Jessie Stow and Aaron Oreschnick recognised for their outstanding work
Two Manchester Metropolitan Degree Apprentices have been highly commended at the National Apprenticeship Awards 2019.
After winning awards in their regional categories, Jessie Stow and Aaron Oreschnik joined fellow Manchester Metropolitan Degree Apprentice Sarah Herden at the national awards final in the following categories:
Both Jessie and Aaron were highly commended in the ‘Higher or Degree Apprentice of the Year’ category at the national event, held in London on 27 November.
Speaking after receiving his award from television presenter Reggie Yates, Aaron, final year Chartered Manager Degree Apprentice, said: “I am extremely honoured and slightly overwhelmed to have been highly commended for ‘Higher and Degree Apprentice of the Year’ at the National Apprenticeship Awards 2019.
“It has been an amazing experience and the support from the University, my employer Pizza Hut Restaurants, my friends and family through this and my entire degree have been fantastic. This has been a huge highlight to the four-year programme, now on to the end-point assessment and graduation in 2020!”
Liz Gorb, Director of Apprenticeships at Manchester Metropolitan, added: “We are extremely proud of our Degree Apprentices Aaron, Jessie and Sarah who won regional Apprenticeship Awards and then progressed to the national final.
“For Aaron and Jessie to then be Highly Commended in such prestigious nationwide awards is an outstanding achievement and wonderful recognition of the opportunities provided by our Degree Apprenticeship programmes.”
