Degree apprenticeships

Degree apprenticeships are a unique type of programme that combine full-time paid work with part-time study.

Both undergraduate- and postgraduate-level qualifications give you the perfect platform to launch your career or take it to the next level.

Degree apprenticeships could be the right choice for you, whether you are looking for a job or already have one.

As a degree apprentice with Manchester Met you will:

  • Graduate with no student debt, because your tuition fees are 100% paid for by your employer and the government
  • Be paid a full-time salary while you study - a starting salary of at least £16,000 a year and usually much more. You will earn while you learn
  • Get a full bachelors or masters degree upon graduation, just like our students who follow the traditional route
  • Graduate with quality work experience, giving you a competitive edge - our employer partners include some of the UK’s most prestigious organisations: Amazon, AstraZeneca, Barclays, Accenture, United Utilities, Bentley, Lloyds Banking Group, IBM, Odeon, ASDA, Matalan and many more
  • Enjoy all the benefits of being a full-time employee and get paid time off to study and attend classes
  • Join a community of more than 2,400 degree apprentices and 540 employers across the UK
  • Have a personal skills coach to support you and help you develop your skills in the workplace
  • Be placed with a designated mentor, who will support you with work-based learning
  • Gain full access to our fantastic campus services and facilities, including the 24/7 library

We are a top provider of degree apprenticeships. Our apprentices have voted us the best university degree apprenticeship provider in the UK at the RateMyApprenticeship Awards for five years running - 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Manchester Met was named University Provider of the Year at the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards 2023, for the second year in a row, and rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, in 2018 and 2022.

Since embarking on this programme, I have found myself more frequently thinking as a designer would. At the end of my degree, not only will I be fully qualified for a creative director role, but I will also have completed many years of valuable work experience within a well-known luxury business.
