for Apprentice Students
The MBA Degree Apprenticeship is an engaging, high-level management programme designed to provide the skills and knowledge to support your career aspirations.
The programme, aligned to the Level 7 Senior Leader apprenticeship standard developed by the CMI, the University and a group of 30 leading employers, will broaden participants understanding of business functions and how they work together.
The MBA Degree Apprenticeship can accelerate career development and help to enhance organisational performance by expanding participants' knowledge and awareness of strategic management, finance, marketing, human resource management and international business.
The assessment for each unit is designed to enable you to apply the academic theory to your own organisation and role. You are also encouraged to conduct research into your own organisation, so that you can contextualise your learning in the classroom. The MBA Degree Apprenticeship includes a range of assessment types, from essays to group or individual presentations, and business reports.
This blended unit will ensure that you can effectively capture the knowledge, skills and behaviours developed on the programme in a single cumulative portfolio directly contributing to the End Point Assessment. Commencing from day one and running throughout the programme, this unit supports you to reflect, plan and evaluate your development. A university team member will also conduct periodic visits at your workplace to assess how you are applying your personal and academic learning to your job role.
The Executive Business Project is a substantial piece of work to be undertaken towards the end of the MBA. The fulfilment of a project lifecycle is a mandatory element within the Senior Leader Degree Apprenticeship standard and AMBA accreditation.
The End Point Assessment for the programme will include the presentation of the executive business project and an independent professional discussion to review the completed portfolio.
The course is taught over 24 months and includes eight compulsory 15 credit units, as well as a substantial 60 credit executive business project. Each unit is delivered in a three-day block, during which, you will benefit from the latest academic and practitioner thinking presented by University staff and industry guest speakers.
In addition to the taught element of the programme, there is a requirement to attend two weekend sessions over the two-years. You will also be allocated an executive business coach and receive six sessions throughout the programme.
All successful apprentices will receive the Masters of Business Administration (MBA), an accredited degree awarded by Manchester Metropolitan University. Upon completion of the End-Point Assessment, participants will also receive the Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship.
The course is designed with professionals in mind, and this is reflected in our entry requirements.
