Location: Geoffrey Manton Building

Join Manchester-based independent publisher Comma Press and The Manchester Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University for the National Creative Writing Industry Day 2019, in partnership with Writers & Artists and The Society of Authors. Now returning for its fifth year, this conference is dedicated to new writers aspiring to publication.

You can watch a keynote speech from an award-winning new debut author, attend panels on topics from representation in children's literature, to how the publisher will work with you, partake in creative and practical workshops and also have the chance to pitch your work to some of the country's leading literary agents and editors.

The 2019 Industry Day is set to be even bigger and better than last year, and is the perfect opportunity to meet fellow writers, gain an insight into the industry and hone the skills that will you help you progress. We hope to see you at the Geoffrey Manton Building at Manchester Met on the 1st November.

This year's keynote speech will be delivered by author Sharlene Teo, whose debut novel Ponti was published in 2018, winning the inaugural Deborah Rogers Writer's Award and selected by Ali Smith as one of the best debut works of fiction of 2018.
