Marsha Courneya is a Research Associate in Virtual Reality Media and Storytelling at Manchester Metropolitan University, but she started out in indie film. Transitioning from traditional writing and filmmaking to immersive media hasn’t been only about the work itself, but also about examining the commercial structures available to contemporary creators. In this seminar, Marsha will share her creative path and take us on a detour through the tangle of copyright law, showing examples of how it can be circumvented to return rights and power to creators.
