Peterloo Descendants: The Film

Date: Tesuday 26th November 2019

Time: 17:30 – 19:00

Location: Number 70 Oxford St

Tickets: Free - Available on Eventbrite

In 2019, Manchester Histories supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, led on the Peterloo Descendants project to trace those present at Peterloo in 1819 to their modern day descendants.

In partnership with The Manchester Centre for Public History and Heritage at Manchester Metropolitan University, we worked with independent filmmaker Mat Johns and genealogist Michala Hulme to film six modern day descendants as they tell the story of their Peterloo family connection.

This exciting visual event will include a 30-minute screening of the Peterloo Descendants film followed by a Q&A session with the people who researched and made the film, as well as the descendants themselves.

The event will be held at Number 70 Oxford Road, Manchester, M1 5NH (formerly Cornerhouse Cinema).

All welcome to this unique and fascinating personal account of people who were at Peterloo, shared by members of their modern day families.

Please note there has been a change of venue to the original listing. To confirm, the event will be held at NUMBER 70 OXFORD ROAD and no longer at Manchester Central Library. Date and time remain the same.

Light refreshments will be served on arrival.
