English Teacher/Librarian networking event, hosted by Carol Ann Duffy

Date: Tuesday 28th January 2020

Time: 5pm - 7.30pm

Location: Geoffrey Manton Building

Tickets: Free - Available on Eventbrite

Join Carol Ann and other colleagues from the Department of English at Manchester Metropolitan University for drinks, refreshments, an opportunity to find out about our new Manchester Poetry Library (opens summer 2020) and the various events, projects and resources on offer to support teachers and librarians.

Creative Director of the Manchester Writing School, Carol Ann Duffy will present her latest poetry project ‘Weather Here or There’. Taking the topic of the weather as a starting point, pupils in schools will be invited to write poetry on a range of topics, including Science, Geography, mental health, emotions, other cultures and, of course, climate change. With such a broad reach, it will be relevant to teachers from all curriculum areas, all key-stages.

Drop by for refreshments from 5pm, enjoy the keynote speech and some poetry by Carol Ann at 5.30 and stay to network with colleagues here at Manchester Met, other guests from the city’s cultural sector and with other teachers and librarians.

You will be guaranteed to leave with ideas, resources and contacts to support and refresh your teaching over the coming months.
