Provocation 03: Does Architecture make you anxious?

Date: Thursday 20th February 2020

Time: 5.15pm - 6.30pm

Location: All Saints ‘Manchester Lecture Theatre’

Tickets: Free - First come first served.

Does Architecture make you anxious?

This week's ‘Provocation’ has been instigated by Architecture students who would like to open up a public debate about whether it is inevitable that studying or practicing the arts and humanities present a challenge to people’s mental health. Are there systemic problems within these disciplines and how they are taught? And if so, what could we do about it?

Curated by Emily Crompton and Helen Aston; this week's session will feature contributions from Architecture student Simon Guerbet, founder of the student-led wellbeing group MSA&U and architect Kathryn Valentine whose work concerns happiness. Emily Crompton will be our discussant.

This is an essential conversation for the faculty to have, and we are keen for your contributions.

These sessions are open to all in Arts and Humanities, free and seating is on a first come first served basis for a 5.15 prompt start. The venue is the Manchester Lecture Theatre, All Saints building next to the library, first floor.
