Jules Townshend is Emeritus Professor in Political Theory at MMU, retiring in 2010. He had a career-long interest in radical political theory and wrote various books and articles in the areas of Marxism, Post-Marxism and liberalism. His last book (co-authored with Simon Tormey) was Key Thinkers from Critical Theory to Post-Marxism. He was co-founder (with Joe Femia) of Workshops in Political Theory, now run by Manchester University.
