Dr Sorcha Ni Fhlainn on Bram Stoker’s Dracula

Dr Sorcha Ni Fhlainn, Senior Lecturer in Film Studies and American Studies, has been interviewed for The Forum on the BBC World Service for a show on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, which is now available as a podcast.

Dr Fhlainn argues that it's "interesting that he's paired up with the idea of a lizard - leaching the heat off the living. A wonderful metaphor for the physical strangeness for Dracula".

Sorcha's background is in History, Politics and American Studies and consequently her work is largely rooted in socio-cultural, historical and Marxist approaches to Film Studies, Cultural Studies, Popular and Contemporary American Literature and Popular Cinema. She also specialise in Gothic Studies, Horror Cinema, with my research particularly focussed on Vampires (fiction, culture and film), and monster studies.

You can listen to Sorcha's interview as a podcast here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3csv0rt
