'Northern Lights' in Competition for Best British Short at London Short Film Festival

Northern Lights, a short film by Filmmaking Lecturer Chris Paul Daniels, is in competition at London Short Film Festival this week for Best British Short.

The film was a co-commissioned by Grundy Art Gallery and ICA Art and Screen Network and will also be shown at the Holden Gallery, and HOME later this month.

The film shows an inquisitive voice from the far future interrogates the traditions of the Illuminations, an annual light festival in the coastal town of Blackpool established in 1879.

Chris is Lecturer in Filmmaking at Manchester School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University. He is an Artist and Filmmaker originally from Rotherham in South Yorkshire. His work is characterised by experimental documentation of communal perspectives and memories regarding geographical location.
