Wiam ID Boumsoud is a Lecturer in Fashion Marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University's Manchester Fashion Institute. Her expertise lies in the areas of business, management, and marketing, and she has both academic and professional qualifications in these fields. Since 2019, Wiam has been working in higher education, sharing her knowledge and experience with students.

Wiam holds a PhD in Business and Management, as well as a double master's degree in marketing and a bachelor's degree in commerce and management. Her professional experience includes stakeholder management, entrepreneurship, project/event management, marketing (including social marketing and digital marketing), and academic research and education.

Aside from her professional accomplishments, Wiam is also dedicated to values such as ethics, social justice, sustainability, and wellbeing. She is committed to integrating these values into her teaching and research, inspiring the next generation of fashion industry professionals to create a better, more equitable future.

Previous Employment

Before coming to MMU, Wiam has held several appointments in higher education as a PTHP Lecturer in Marketing, and PTHP Academic at the University of Huddersfield from 2019 until 2021.

Wiams’ professional experience includes a range of roles that have contributed to the success of various organizations in the field of social media management, and photography for the Marketing Department of the University of Huddersfield and other beneficiaries. As an independant Business & Marketing Consultant Wiam has also provided valuable guidance to new entrepreneurs in implementing business and marketing strategies. She leveraged her extensive personal and business network to support the growth of various startups from the initial idea phase to their successful implementation.

Research

Research Interests

Wiam has a diverse range of research interests in the fields of sustainability, marketing, management, postcolonialism, and philosophy. Her previous research output includes a PhD thesis and conference papers that explore these areas within the tourism industry. Wiam’s research is driven by a passion for understanding stakeholder behaviours in the fashion industry, including the behaviour of both consumers and businesses. She is committed to advancing knowledge in this area through interdisciplinary research and collaboration with industry partners.

Conference organisation
