Our multidisciplinary research theme focuses on microorganisms and their role in health and disease, hospital transmissions and food contamination.
Our research covers:

anti-adhesive, antimicrobial and biomimetic surfaces and coatings

detection and characterisation of conditioning films and biochemical molecules at the cell surface interface

the effectiveness of cleaning methods, hygienic status of food contact surfaces and biofilm characterisation and eradication

oral health and its systemic link

human infections associated with biofilm formation - chronic wounds, catheter infections and dental plaques
