Work with us

Our research focuses on alleviating the biggest threats to human health and wellbeing in the UK including infectious disease, cardiovascular disease, stroke and age-related decline.

We offer a range of opportunities for collaboration. Whether you’re looking to add your insights and knowledge to help shape our work, or apply our research to develop new treatments.

Our aim is to increase understanding of how biology and biological interactions contribute to these diseases to inform clinical application and policy change.

Get involved with our research

We encourage public involvement in our research - from participation in research projects to outreach events in local schools and science programmes.

Patient and public involvement

Involving different people in our research brings valuable insights into the way we work, and helps us to conduct patient-focused research to improve health services.

We collaborate with doctors across Greater Manchester and beyond to involve patients in our research, but you don’t have to be living with a condition to get involved.

Working alongside our expert researchers, you could:

  • develop and guide research ideas
  • consult and guide funding applications
  • give feedback on current research projects

We regularly recruit members of the public to engage in different projects. For general enquiries about public involvement in our research, please email bioscience@mmu.ac.uk.
