What sparked your interest in HRM?

Working at a young age, I realised that employees are the most important assets in any organisation. This encouraged me to want to learn about how businesses achieve their success by supporting their employees, and what procedures and policies they put in place to help maintain that success.

From your time at Manchester Met, which skills do you find most helpful so far?

Time management is an essential skill to have when studying a degree. Not only does it help reduce your stress levels, but it also allows you to be more productive by prioritising your workload. This has helped me in achieving the best possible grades.

What are your greatest achievements so far?

My greatest achievement so far is graduating with a first-class honours degree. Despite the challenges of studying throughout the pandemic, the support of my teachers and my family helped me stay on track and accomplish my goal.

What advice would you give to students who aspire to a career in HRM?

The advice I would give students is to take advantage of all the opportunities and support that the university provides as they are there to help. It’s important to stay on top of your reading and attend every lecture and tutorial, as you’ll learn something different in each one and always walk out with more knowledge than what you walked in with.
