Who am I?
Words of wisdom
These have been adapted from Jordan B Peterson's 40 rules on Quorm
Tell the truth.
Do not do things that you hate.
Be precise in your speech.
Act so that you can tell the truth about how you act.
Pursue what is meaningful, not what is expedient.
If you have to choose, be the one who does things, instead of the one who is seen to do things..
If old memories still make you cry, write them down carefully and completely.
Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you need to know. Listen to them hard enough so that they will share it with you.
Imagine who you could be, and then aim single-mindedly at that.
Treat yourself as if you were someone that you are responsible for helping.
Read something written by someone great.
Remember that what you do not yet know is more important than what you already know.
Academic and professional qualifications
B.A. [Hons] Economics [Manchester Polytechnic]
PGCE Teaching Certificate for teaching in Further and Higher Education
M.A. in Economics [Manchester University]
Between 1994 and 2014 I taught at The Manchester College of Arts and Technology [MANCAT] and later The Manchester College.
During that time I taught on a very wide range of professional programmes, AAT Levels 2 and 3, HNC and HND business programmes, covering a wide range of accounting and business related topics.
I also taught for 10 years on a one year 'Top-up' degree programme designed for those students who had completed AAT level 4 or HND programmes. This was in conjunction with Northumbria University based in Newcastle. I also supervised undergraduate dissertations on this programme. I also taught on the Foundation degree programmes which were organised in conjunction with Salford University.
