Yontem completed her undergraduate degree in Economics at Cyprus International University, her postgraduate degree at Manchester University and her PhD at Sheffield University. She joined UCLan in 2007 as Lecturer in Economics, was appointed Senior Lecturer in 2010. After about seven years at UCLan she joined MMU in 2014. Yontem has taught at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (Micro and Macroeconomics, EU Economics, International Economics, Globalisation and International Business, and Dissertation) and has supervised students on a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. She is currently supervising three PhD students and has also acted as examiner for the award of PhD.
Research Expertise, Publications & Grants
Her research covers empirical international trade, international migration of labour and workers' remittances, FDI, development and labour economics under the broad umbrella of the economics of globalisation.
