Dane is a Director of MBA Apprenticeship at Manchester Metropolitan University and lectures in Strategic Management. He holds a PhD from the University of Liverpool Management School, UK. Dane's PhD, funded by the ESRC, examined the agglomeration and development of video game and life science/healthcare industries in the Liverpool City Region in collaboration with Liverpool Vision.
Whilst at MMU Dane has been closely involved with the curriculum design, development and delivery of degree apprenticeships at both an undergraduate and now postgraduate level. During his academic career Dane has taught across both management and geography maintaining an interdisciplinary perspective in both teaching and research. His current areas of research are in place leadership and degree apprenticeships. He is a Fellow at Institute of Place Management and member of the MMU Apprenticeship Research Unit.
Additionally, Dane is the Faculty Representative to the University Academic Board which advises the Vice-Chancellor on the University’s academic and other activities. In particular matters relating to awarding taught and research degrees.
