Mentor our students

Become a mentor and help Manchester Met students realise their potential.

We are keen to hear from employers who are interested in mentoring one of our talented students to help them launch their career.

Mentor Me is the career mentoring programme run by the University which matches professionals (mentors) with Manchester Metropolitan University students (mentees).

What is Mentor Me?

Mentor Me runs each year from October.

Students submit applications in the previous academic year between 1 April and 30 June.

Mentees are typically either a second year undergraduate student or one of our postgraduate taught or postgraduate research students.

We review all student applications. We only accept students onto the programme if they have demonstrated their commitment and motivation.

We also seek to identify and match those whom we believe will benefit most from the opportunity and the support that you are able to offer.

Your commitment

There is no prescribed minimum contact time between you and your mentee, the level of engagement is down to you and your mentee to agree.

Contact may be face-to-face, telephone, Skype, email or whatever means works best for you both.

Register as a mentor

The registration process allows you to identify any specific subject areas or levels of study that would be of particular interest to you.
