Career Pulse - a testing tool that can help you find an appropriate career pathway, this is especially useful if you’re completely unsure on where to take your future.

Career Guides - useful guides to support your search for a career, these have been put together by our faculty teams and can help in finding a specific degree related pathway.

Prospects - a great tool to find out everything you could want to know during your job search. From locating a job, to job and employer profiles, careers advice, and a page dedicated to ‘what job would suit me’.

Further Study - if you’re considering progressing your studies one step further, check out this page dedicated to exploring further study options.

Self-Employment - there are so many options available to you, sometimes it’s worth considering different ones. A career in freelancing might be exactly what you’re looking for.

CV360 - do you want instant feedback on your CV? This is the place to get it. Our CV checker tool is a great starting point for getting your first draft CV graded and receiving constructive feedback in seconds.

CV Guide - access a wide range of resources, including example CVs, top tips, and useful information on how to structure your CV.


Prospects - additional resources at your fingertips, example CVs, cover letters, and advice and guidance on creating an appropriate CV.

Creating your LinkedIn profile  - did you know that a significant number of graduates find job opportunities through LinkedIn and online platforms? Build your online CV on LinkedIn, make connections, and let employers know what you have to offer.

Ask a Question - this feature is available through Career Hub. Submit a question or your CV for review and one of our careers team will get back to you within 3 working days. If you’re a recent graduate, you might need to reset your password to access this feature.

Graduate job search

With so many job sourcing websites out there it can be difficult to figure out which one is best for you. Here is some guidance on the ones we recommend.

Graduate Scheme List - if you’re looking for a graduate scheme then this list, which is updated every year, is a great place to begin your search. Find out which companies are recruiting, where opportunities are available, and where and how to apply.

Career Hub - exclusive to Manchester Met students and graduates, our jobs board is available to you for life! Check here for new vacancies from local and national employers. If you’ve just graduated you might need to reset your password to access this feature.

Graduate Jobs Guide - for more specific or specialised graduate job sites, this guide has them all.

Social media is also a great place to find opportunities. Try searching for specific companies on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, most organisations will have a dedicated careers account.


Interviews can be a daunting part of the job process, so of course you can find helpful advice and guidance here to give you that all-important edge.

Interview Guide - learn how to prepare, structure your responses, discover the different interview styles, and how to make the most of feedback in our interview guide.

Assessment Centre Guide - know what to expect, learn how to prepare, and check out the dos and don’ts for your next assessment centre.

Career Centre - stocked full of great tips and tricks to tackle interviews, our online centre has lots of helpful advice.

Career fairs and events

Even as a graduate you’re welcome on campus to attend events throughout the year. Don’t forget all the other amazing careers events that could be happening near you too!

Career Hub Events - sign in to Career Hub and view the events happening throughout the year, on and off campus, remember to sign up where necessary. If you’re a recent graduate you might need to reset your password to access this feature.

Prospects - across the country there are events happening nearly every week! Check out the list Prospects has, filter and find one near you to get involved. Prospects run a Virtual Careers Fair at specific times over the year, so you don’t even need to move off the couch to find employers and job opportunities.
