Research study

We are training future leaders in our research areas.

Our centre offers supervision within five research themes where our researchers develop innovative technologies, tools and methodologies to investigate and solve global challenges.

Working with our multidisciplinary teams, you’ll have the opportunity to develop leading research projects and innovations that deliver real-world benefits to businesses and society.

And by studying in Manchester - a global technology destination - you’ll have significant opportunities to build a collaborative network within artificial intelligence, data science, cyber security and the creative industries.

Research degree options

You can study for a part- and full-time research degree leading to qualifications including:

  • MRes
  • PhD

While scholarships are rare, we regularly advertise funded study opportunities working on high profile projects with the centre’s research staff.

You can register for notifications when applications open for new scholarships.

If you are considering self-funding a research degree or making an application for funding, we’re happy to talk through your options.

Our research graduates have gone on to secure senior-level roles in design and development, systems and data analytics.
