In creating Our Commitment Statement, we are proud of the clear and positive statement of what we and the Students’ Union provide for our students, and what we expect of them in return.

Our Commitment Statement The Union commits to:

Representing all students and strives to ensure the needs and views of students are at the heart of everything the University does.

The Union will:

  • Listen to your needs and represent all students to the decision-makers in the University and the wider community
  • Create a range of opportunities for you to be actively involved in improving the quality of your academic experience, including on your course and in your department
  • Provide you with a range of opportunities to help develop skills and talents that complement and enhance your education and help you get the most out of your time at university
  • Make you aware of your rights and responsibilities and adapt to meet your changing needs
  • Help you lead a healthy and secure life and provide you with individual support if you are facing difficulties
  • Let you know about important changes in the University and opportunities to work together to create positive change on the issues that affect you.
Your student reps

The Union has worked closely with the University to create this commitment, which sets out how we all work in partnership to help you get the most out of your time at university.

We exist to represent students at Manchester Metropolitan University – all 38,000 of you. We are an independent charity, and our impartiality means we are able to represent your needs and views effectively.

University is a transformational experience and we are committed to delivering the best possible experience, whatever your interests. We provide a whole range of services, activities and opportunities to help you develop skills and talents that complement and enhance your education.
