Privacy Notice for Jobs4Students

This Privacy Notice explains who we are, why we use your personal data, our lawful bases for processing, who we share your personal data with, relevant retention periods and how you can exercise your privacy rights. Who we are

Throughout this Statement, “University”, “we”, “our” and “us” refers to the Manchester Metropolitan University, an exempt charity under Schedule 2 to the Charities Act 1993 (amended by the Charities Act 2011). This Statement provides information that is in addition to information contained in the University’s Student Privacy Notice


The personal data we process

In our application forms and online registration system, you will be asked to submit basic information about yourself, your work history, qualifications and right to work in the United Kingdom. The University will process your personal data in accordance with the University Data Protection Policy.

The University uses the services of Eploy, the supplier and host of the Jobs4Students application system. Eploy provide these support services to the University as a processor under appropriate contractual arrangements. Your personal data will remain within the European Union.

We will make reference disclosures of factual nature, i.e. role and dates worked, to potential employers and other educational institutions requesting a references from us. Your approval for disclosure is implied by providing the University’s details as a referee.



The University will retain the personal data for no longer than is necessary. In particular, we will retain your personal data as follows:

Your Jobs4Students profile – when you register on the Jobs4Students website you will be asked to give consent for your personal data to be kept. If you are unsuccessful, this consent will be active for 48 months, however you can request anonymization or deletion earlier.
