The Faculty of Education is privileged to work with international students from a diverse range of countries.
At Manchester Met we understand the level of commitment made by international students who choose to come and study in the UK. Therefore, staff in our Faculty are all fully committed to providing excellent and supportive teaching and learning experiences for all our international students.
Faculty teaching staff have experience working with students from across the world. We are committed to providing a supportive teaching and learning environment enabling our students to achieve academic success. In addition, pastoral support is provided through a personal tutor system. Many of our courses involve placements in educational settings where we ensure staff can support our international students.

We have a wealth of experience working with international partner institutions to develop educational courses to meet the needs of students in an ever changing world. We are currently working in Nigeria, USA, China and Hong Kong.
If you are an overseas institution interested in developing taught course collaborations, please contact Julie Scanlon, Principal Lecturer for Internationalisation.
We can assess professionals working outside the UK wishing to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Progress is monitored and assessed online by a Manchester Met tutor, with the final assessment taking place in person at your school setting.
The Faculty is home to the Education and Social Research Institute (ESRI), one of the leading UK centres for applied educational research and evaluation. The 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), the system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions, rated 67% of our research as 'internationally excellent' or 'world leading,' and 100% of our research impact as being 'internationally excellent' or 'world leading'.
We are committed to knowledge exchange and encouraging collaboration between researchers, educators, business and society and have worked with worldwide organisations in China, Norway, Sweden, UAE and USA to share our expertise and provide bespoke training courses. These have been in the form of conferences, workshops and summer schools delivered both at Manchester Met and overseas.
International students are welcome to join us for short periods of study, on either an exchange or study abroad basis. Students can currently spent either the autumn term or the full academic year here. We also encourage students studying on full time courses within the Faculty to gain international experience in their field of study. This can be on a five month study exchange in year 2 of an undergraduate degree to partner universities in Europe, USA or Hong Kong, or on short term enrichment experiences.
You can study at the Faculty of Education during the Autumn Term (September to December) as part of an Erasmus or Worldwide Exchange. If you choose to study with us, you will be able to select courses from across our Undergraduate programmes. Our current course offer is under review.
