BECOME AN ORIGINAL INFLUENCER

Train to Teach at Manchester Met

COULD YOU BECOME AN ORIGINAL INFLUENCER?

As one of the city’s most established providers – with almost 150 years training education professionals under our belts – we know teaching inside out.

In many ways, we think teachers are the original influencers. They inspire. They engage. They explain. And they have a lasting impact on the pupils they teach.

Teaching has been trending for years, and the need for newly qualified teachers is higher than ever.

Begin your journey

GAIN A NEW FOLLOWING

As a teacher, you’ll gain real followers. You’ll build a new network. You’ll inspire the next generation.

You might teach the same pupils in the same classroom but every day is different. That’s the requirement of an original influencer. At Manchester Met, our PGCE courses help to prepare you for a career as a primary or secondary school teacher.

Unsure how to begin your journey into teaching? Attend one of our PGCE drop-in sessions. You’ll meet some of the academic staff on our PGCE Primary and Secondary courses and we’ll give you advice on writing your UCAS application and gaining school experience.

TRENDING SINCE 1878

We’ve been educating teachers, practitioners and professionals since 1878. We’re proud of our history. We’re proud of our present. And we’re proud to be one of the largest teacher training establishments in the country. Each year, we welcome over 700 trainee teachers onto our PGCE courses.

We have a partnership of over 1,500 regional schools, colleges and educational organisations.

We adopt leading research into our teaching through our Education and Social Research Institute (ESRI).

Choose from over 20 PGCE subjects, including modern foreign languages, music and physics.

During my PGCE studies at Manchester Met, I feel I have become more confident and have learnt different strategies that will help with my career. I developed skills that can guide children with their learning and development and my passion for teaching has increased.

SHARING SELFIES TO SHARING KNOWLEDGE

Sharing selfies is fun, but there is real joy in sharing knowledge. It’s finding new ways to explain complex theories to students and inspiring a love of learning. Discovering innovative global teaching methods. Using research to make a difference in the classroom.

Through our courses, you might debate how pupils learn when they live below the poverty line or explore the effect of the growth mind-set. You might research ways to include bilingual students in your lessons or global methods of teaching maths and how this could help your class.

Whichever subject you’re hoping to teach, we’ll help you to develop the practical skills you need to teach, to inspire and to engage your class.
