BA (Hons) Geography
MEd Teaching and Learning
I taught geography in a secondary school in Hertfordshire for 15 years. I have had many different roles in school; geography teacher, head of geography, head of humanities and also leading the Humanities Specialist School. This involved working with a range of schools in the local area, including primary schools, to improve their geography provision. I also had the role of developing Independent Learning across the whole school and led the Extended Project Qualification.
I teach the Geography elements of the Foundation Subjects on the BA Primary Education course and I am unit leader for Year 1 Foundation 2 (Level 4) at Crewe.
I teach the Geography part of the Foundation curriculum Unit on the PGCE Primary at Crewe and I am one of the PGCE Secondary Geography tutors based at Manchester. I am also a Secondary Partnerhsip Tutor. I also teach on the Post Graduate Certificate Education (SCITT) Masters level units.
I am currently studying for a Doctor in Education. My research interests are based on teacher education, recruitment into teaching, the use of technology to enhance learning, school linking and independent learning.
