We strive to align our research to the needs and challenges of industry and society, ensuring our research has a wide impact. Teaching and learning in the Department are employability-focused, with a focus on practical skills and knowledge that reflects what students will do in engineering roles when they graduate.
We offer a broad and flexible range of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in Engineering with a commitment to maintaining our high teaching standards. We place a strong emphasis on computer technology, computer-based design and the application of information technology in engineering. The majority of full-time courses offer a placement year in industry and we have well-established links for study or work experience worldwide.
The Department of Engineering aims to support the leaders of tomorrow in engineering. We are offering seven Dalton International Scholarships worth £5,000 each to all self-funded international students who enrol on a full-time taught programme in September 2019.
