At Manchester Metropolitan University, we offer curriculum-informed sessions to nurture the tech and science talent of tomorrow

The Department of Engineering offers Taster Afternoons made up of interactive workshops, designed to inspire and inform students who are interested in specific subject strands. At present, we have Taster Afternoons available to book which are suitable for students in Year 12 or their first year of Level 3 study. These will run from 1pm – 4pm on Wednesdays.

Teachers and advisers are encouraged to email , to find out more. Staff must accompany students to events.

Current sessions available:

Engineering workshops: Developing solutions for a better future

Wednesday afternoons, 1pm-4pm

Students will select from a choice of Product Design, Mechanical or Electronic Engineering workshops and visit our facilities such as Formula Student, Print City and Manchester Fuel Cell Innovation Centre. They will also get the opportunity to meet tutors and current students.

Physics in Engineering

Wednesday afternoons, 1pm- 4pm

This session is for students studying A Level Physics. It can be tailored to support the curriculum or give a taster of how physics applies to engineering at university.
