Writers at Manchester Met: Hera Lindsay Bird

Manchester Metropolitan University is delighted to present an evening of poetry with special guest Hera Lindsay Bird.

​​Hera Lindsay Bird is a poet from Wellington, New Zealand. She has an MA in poetry from the International Institute of Modern Letters where she won the 2011 Adam Prize for best folio. Her debut collection Hera Lindsay Bird was published in July 2016 by Victoria University Press and Penguin UK in November 2017, and became a cult bestseller after the poems 'Monica' and 'Keats is Dead...' went viral. Pamper Me To Hell & Back was selected by Carol Ann Duffy as a Laureate's Choice and published by the Poetry Society in 2018. She won the Jessie McKay Best First Book Award in 2017, The Sarah Broom Poetry Prize in 2017 and was an Arts Foundation New Generation Laureate in 2017.

Hera will be reading from and talking about her work, and answering questions from the audience. Refreshments will be available. The event is free to attend and all are welcome but pre-booking via EventBrite is essential.
