Join us at Ordsall Hall for an evening of talks on the theme of ghost stories and haunted heritage with presentations by lecturers and postgraduates from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Speakers will be:

Dr Emma Liggins is Senior Lecturer in English Literature at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research interests include Victorian sensation fiction, the New Woman, nineteenth-century Gothic, women's ghost stories, George Gissing, fin-de-siecle and modernist women's writing, and women's magazines 1880s to 1940s.

Dr Matt Foley is a Scotsman in Manchester, a reader, and someone with a keen interest in music. His specialisms are in early-twentieth-century literature, particularly literary modernism and the Gothic of the period. He also have a penchant for literary theory, including, but not limited to, psychonalytic (Freud, Lacan, Kristeva) and Derridean thought.
