Also included is the brilliant Alison Moore who we discovered when she entered our Fiction Prize, which she’s returned to judge in the competition’s tenth anniversary year.

Nicholas Royle, Reader in Creative Writing here at Manchester Met, was the editor for Kerry Hadley-Pryce's novel. Nick was also the editor of Best British Short Stories which is Number two on the list.

Nick says: "Every year I have the privilege of watching new writers grow into themselves". Nick has written seven novels, two novellas and three volumes of short fiction (two full-length collections and a shorter volume). He has also edited twenty anthologies of short stories.

Next year Salt will publish two debut novels by two more graduates of the MA – Trevor Mark Thomas and Michael Walters.

Salt tweeted about their list of top ten best selling books of 2018 on twitter
