Scoring Fear: An Evening of Classical Music and Gothic Horror Film Scores

'Scoring Fear' marks the first collaboration between the Manchester Centre for Gothic Studies and the BBC Philharmonic. The concert will feature music by an eclectic mix of composers whose work invokes suspense, awe, terror, and even horror. Our draft programme includes pieces by Bernard Herrmann, Dmitri Shostakovich and Béla Bartók.

Settle in, and hold on tight, as we explore the music that makes us scared.

Complimentary canapes and refreshments will be served at 7.30pm. Performance at 8pm.

This performance will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s ‘Sound of Cinema’.

Tickets are £20 and are available from the Stoller Hall box office

No late admissions will be permitted.
