Chris Neilan is an author, screenwriter and filmmaker. He started working in TV and radio comedy before moving into literary fiction and feature films. He was shortlisted for the 2016 Sundance Screenwriters Lab, and and has written for Little White Lies and Film International. His first novel, 'Abattoir Jack', was published by Punked Books in 2009. His story 'A Few Years In Pubs' features in the Smith/Doorstop anthology 'One For The Road' (2017), and another story, 'Ends', won 2nd place in the 2017 Bridport Prize. He is in progress on his debut collection of shorts, 'Everyone Needs to be Loved', and his second novel, 'Mugunghwa'. Originally from Sussex, he has lived in Brighton, Bangkok and North Chungcheong province, South Korea. He is a writer-in-residence for New Writing North.
