Facilities Management



Our receptions provide a number of helpful and supportive services in buildings throughout Manchester Metropolitan University.

Our receptionists main function is to provide valuable information to students, visitors and staff to answer any queries they may have.


  • Greet visitors and guide them to meeting locations
  • Arrange for visitor car parking permits
  • Arrange for rooms to be unlocked for authorised persons, and advise on how to get replacement keys
  • Temporarily store deliveries for collection
  • Arrange for a qualified First Aider to help in an accident
  • Arrange for staff to gain access at weekends and out of hours. Please give 24 hours notice for this service.

Access for all

We are happy to greet all visitors to the University and offer them guidance and assistance. If you have someone visiting you and you would like us to help them on arrival, please contact your nearest building reception with the following information:

  • Visitor’s name
  • Date and time of arrival
  • Any other special instructions

Our reception staff can offer guidance about accessible services, assistive technology such as deaf alerters and hearing loops, information on the location of refuge areas and evac-chairs, and more. The University is committed to continuously improving the services offered to all building users and has recently been awarded the Disability Standard – Silver to recognise the commitment of its teams.
