Contractor Induction

Everyone engaged to undertake work on the University premises must complete a contractor induction. This video is also part of the induction, so please take a few minutes to watch it and familiarise yourself with site rules and procedures.

Please also take a few moments to read the contractor handbook, which should be issued to you as part of your induction. 

Temporary ID cards

Temporary ID cards are issued to those who are working at the University on a temporary basis for a period of four weeks or more, such as agency staff or contractors. Visting academics should contact Human Resources in the first instance to find out more about the issue of their ID card.

A temporary ID will provide you with basic IT and wifi access at the University as well as

Request new temporary ID.

Extend existing temporary ID.

Please note: you will be required to log-in with your Manchester Met ID and password to request temporary cards.

Please give a minimum of 3 working days notice for the creation of temporary identification.

If you are a permanent member of staff and need to replace your ID card, please contact HR who will be happy to assist.

 

Building Access requests

The Estates & Facilities Helpdesk team manages building access for staff, students and University guests.

To request building swipe card access, please click below. You will need to provide the name of your line manager to approve your request.

Please note, requests can take up to 48 hours to become live on a swipe card.
