We assist local, national and international organisations in developing cutting-edge fuel cells, fuel cell materials and related technology, to create green and emission-free energy.

Use of our equipment is offered free of charge to small businesses in and around Manchester.

Join our SMEs network

We're supporting local businesses to put Manchester on the map as a global leader in fuel cells research innovation and business.

The Manchester Fuel Cell Innovation Network (MFCIN) is a pioneering project that aims to unite small to medium-sized (SMEs) with expert researchers and specialist facilities.

Through MFCIN, we hope to:

  • Assist SMEs in engaging in fuel cell applications and their commercial uses in Greater Manchester
  • Diversify the fuel sector through enabling SME’s participation with our expertise and facilities
  • Support small firm's development needs and cross-industry collaboration
  • Fostering collaborations between the Centre, SMEs and science parks across the North West
