On the day of the ceremony

What to expect and details about getting here

Specific details for your ceremony will be sent to you in mid to late June.

The venue

All graduation ceremonies take place in the auditorium of the Bridgewater Hall. Registration, robing and photography will take place at the Midland Hotel, just across the road. The Bridgewater Hall is an international concert venue and a stunning backdrop for your ceremony.

It is important that you arrive at the Midland Hotel at least two hours before your ceremony to have time to register, collect guest tickets, collect your robe, and have your photographs taken.  You will then need to arrive at The Bridgewater Hall at least 45 minutes before your ceremony start time to find your allocated seat and complete a roll call.

The doors to the hall will be closed 5 minutes before the start time of the ceremony. If you arrive late and the doors have closed, you will not be permitted to enter the ceremony. We will make provision for you to attend the next available graduation ceremony.

The ceremony

Your ceremony will last between 60-90 minutes. Graduands will be seated in the stalls of the auditorium and guests on the upper floors. Graduands are given seat numbers for the auditorium. Graduands MUST sit in their allocated seat, even if the seat next to you, or your friend, is empty, it is important you do no swap seats. If you do, it is likely you will not be announced correctly when being presented on the stage, and may even miss out on your important moment altogether.

Guest tickets are not allocated seat numbers in the auditorium, so it is worth arriving early to ensure guests are able to sit together.

Your ceremony will be available to view live on the website for guests that are unable to attend. A high definition video of your ceremony will be available to download soon afterwards.

After the ceremony

The celebrations may continue either at the hall, at pre-organised celebrations or with your family, friends and staff. Gifts and memorabilia will be available to purchase in the Choir Circle Foyer on the day.
