Our research focuses on social change to promote wellbeing, with academics from fields including psychology, social care and social work.
Our Research Group at Manchester Met is home to our social and community focused research.
Our research seeks to support organisations, communities, individuals and professionals to enhance people’s lives, health and wellbeing. Our focus is on social change to promote wellbeing across the life course.
Members of our group are from diverse academic traditions, primarily in the fields of psychology, social care and social work.
Our academics engage with issues faced by individuals, families, communities and professionals. Underpinning our work is a participatory and social justice approach, and we work in partnership with organisations outside of academia.
Through our research, we seek to understand how people experience social constructions, conditions and context as real issues. We use traditional, innovative and creative methods to research challenging topics and ethical paradoxes, and work with communities, families, individuals and professionals to inform theory, policy and practice.
