I have been working for MMU since 2005.
I co-run the Clinical Educator training days and the North West Student Coordinators' network with Manchester University.
I organise the level 4 and level 5 clinical placements and teach on the Clinical Education units. These include placement briefs and de-briefs. I also teach on the Applications of Clinical Theory Units (Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Selective Mutism, Phonology).
My research interests include: Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Specific Language Impairment and indirect SLT intervention.
I am currently carrying out a part-time PhD at MMU. I am developing an assessment of inferential and idiom comprehension for 5-10 year-old children. The aim is for the test to help SLTs and other professionals to make a differential diagnosis of sub-types of communication disorders.
I work as a part-time practising paediatric SLT (Speech and Language Therapist) within the NHS
