I gained Chartered status with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and full membership of the Division of Forensic Psychology (DFP) in 2004. I am also an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS), awarded in recognition of several years' experience and contribution to the field of psychology.
I am a practitioner psychologist (Forensic), registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
I have worked within the criminal justice field for over fifteen years and have a wealth of experience working with offenders.
I have hands-on experience of delivering, supervising and managing offending behaviour programmes, within custodial and community settings.
I am experienced in the use of a number of assessment tools used within the field, particularly in the assessment of risk.
I have extensive experience in writing and supervising reports, and presenting these within a range of settings.
I have worked within and managed multi-disciplinary teams and I have managed and supervised trainee forensic psychologists.
I joined the Psychology department at MMU in August 2013.
I am route leader for the MSc Forensic Psychology (BPS Accredited) and the MSc Psychology and Criminology.
I am unit leader for the MSc Dissertation unit, and the Theory and Practice in Forensic Psychology unit. I also teach on other MSc units: Offender Assessment and Treatment, and Psychology and Law.
