My undergraduate degree was in Psychology and since graduating, I have remain within academic. I was involved with research, in the field of social care, where I also undertook teaching on the FdA Health and Social Care programme at a different university. I then joined Manchester Metropolitan University in the Student Support Officer post. Through this role, I developed a wealth of experience teaching academic skills and also achieved my PGCert Academic Practice. I became a lecturer for the FdA Health and Social Care in 2011 and moved to the Psychology Department in 2016.
I have taught on a number of programmes across the Health and Social Care faculty. I am currently involved in teaching on the following units within Psychology:
I also teach on the 'Investigating Human Development and Behaviour' unit on the BSc Speech Pathology and Therapy programme.
I am disseration supervisor for final year BSc Psychology as well as MSc Psychology (conversion) students
External examiner for FdA Public services, Prisons and Law Enforcement (UCLAN); BA (Hons) Public Services – Top up (UCLAN)
I am currently undertaking my PhD which focuses on the culture of care within the South Asian community.
