Dr Panoraia (Nora) Andriopoulou, is a HCPC registered Clinical &
Counselling Psychologist and Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Manchester
Metropolitan University. She is fully trained in CBT, Schema Therapy, and
Systemic Family Therapy and has worked as a practitioner psychologist for more
than 15 years gaining extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of
anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. At present, she teaches clinical and
counselling psychology at undergraduate and post-graduate levels and supervises
post-graduate students carrying out qualitative and quantitative projects. A
number of these projects are concerned with Service Evaluations.
Her research interests lie within the areas of complex trauma and
the therapeutic properties of relationships with a special focus on attachment.
Nora is passionate about exploring ways to improve attachment relationships and
foster attachment security especially in individuals who have experienced
interpersonal trauma such as looked after children. Her PhD thesis focused on
attachment processes and has since developed an interest in limited
re-parenting which led her to be trained as an advanced schema therapist and
She is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy.
