I have supervised to completion twenty-three doctorate students; fourteen PhD students and nine Professional Doctorate students.
I am interested in body image and its impact on health-related behaviours. I am currently involved in various projects linking body image to smoking cessation, sun tanning, and exercise, and recently led work investigating impact of an age-appearance morphing programme on smoking cessation. I am also interested in smoking prevention and recently completed a Medical Research Council funded project on smoking prevention.
I am currently involved in collaborative projects with researchers at University of Leeds, University of Manchester, Staffordshire University, Leeds Beckett University, University of Derby, San Diego State University, and Canberra University, Australia.
