Dr Geoff Walton was at the Open University on 9th November launching a new book on Digital Literacy.
His chapter was written in collaboration with international partners from Croatia. It explores digital literacy in Croatian, Danish, Polish and Swedish schools. The book contains contributions from academics, learning developers and information practitioners based in Australia, USA and the UK.
Dr Geoff Walton is Senior Lecturer in Information and Communications at Manchester Metropolitan University (from August 1st 2016). He is particularly interested in the cognitive, metacognitive and affective processes involved in becoming information literate. He has research interests in a number of areas such as digital personae, digital literacy, discourses in information literacy, social enterprise and webometrics/analytics.
He is Chair of the Editorial Board for the Journal of information Literacy. He is currently a committee member for CILIP's Information Literacy Group (ILG). He also chairs ILG's Research Bursary panel.
