Top up degrees available for HKU SPACE

The University of Hong Kong, School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE) has an articulation agreement with Manchester Metropolitan University.

Students who have successfully completed the HKU SPACE two year Higher Diploma in Library & Information Management are welcome to apply to enter the third and final year of the BSc (Hons) Information and Communications degree.

Manchester Metropolitan University’s offer will be subject to the HKU SPACE applicant achieving 6.0 in the IELTS test, 550 in TOEFL test or a grade C in GCSE English and satisfactory submission of the application form.

Students wishing to study at Manchester Met for one of our top up degrees, but who have not met the English Language Entry Requirements above, may be offered a place on condition they reach the required level through one of our pre-sessional courses, available through The Language Centre.

About BSc (Hons) Information and Communications

Degree Aims

The BSc (Hons) Information and Communications route seeks to provide an interdisciplinary approach to ICTs which combines technical knowledge and skills with perspectives developed in the social study of technology. Its focus is on the creative use of ICTs in the changing technical, social and economic environment. This includes the role played by computer systems, fixed and mobile communications networks and other digital technologies in organisational and social change. The BSc (Hons) Information and Communications prepares students for a wide range of careers that include information management, computing and system management, IT consultancy, teaching, and as managers and administrators in a wide variety of public and private organisations.
