Portfolios and IS Governance

Ensuring our IS projects are aligned with the strategic requirements of the University

There are five portfolio boards covering the University's remit which ensures that our projects are aligned with both our ISDS and our overall University strategy. Unless you have specified the board you would prefer to consider your project for implementation the PMO will choose the board they consider the most appropriate.

Each portfolio is managed by a Portfolio Board, made up of key stakeholders and user representatives from within ISDS and across the university. They provide input on decisions around investment and the provision of services within their remit, and ensure that all decisions are aligned with both ISDS’ and the university's organisational strategy.

They also provide formal approval and oversight for projects that have an IS component, and allow us to continually evaluate and improve our services to ensure that they are relevant, cost effective, and deliver value to the university.
