Support for research technologies
Researchers at Manchester Met are supported in their use of technology by a number of different areas of the University.
Technical Services offer specialist advice and support in areas relating to project organisation which incorporates resource planning and management, specification and installation of specialist hardware and software, implementation of data and application servers.
A query desk operates during the daytime to answer questions, offer advice, administer a loans system and hand out consumable items on request for student and other work. This is based on the second floor of John Dalton Central, room C2.08a.
Practical advice and support is given in respect of specialist hardware and software as they relate in particular to computing and maths advanced applications and a range of sophisticated scientific equipment based in research and teaching laboratories/workshops throughout the Faculty.
Information Systems and Digital Services develops, delivers and supports digital and IT services across the University, which support research activities. These include the 24/7 IT Helpline, campus IT support and research data storage infrastructure.

When contacting Technical Services or the IT Helpline, please consider any specialised technical support requirements that you will require for this project, that is beyond what is currently available to you from the ISDS Campus Support team and Technical Services.
Include information about required hours and levels of support - note that there are likely to be cost implications for additional support requirements beyond that which is provided as part of the standard University service.
