Important information about IT accounts for those leaving or graduating University.
To make sure you don't lose important files when leaving Manchester Met, we've put together some useful guidelines for you to read well in advance of your last day with us.
When you leave Manchester Metropolitan University, your network and email accounts will be closed immediately, and deleted three months later. This ensures the most efficient and secure use of our resources.
Network and email accounts will be closed immediately following the end of your contract. Please discuss with your manager suitable wording for an out-of-office message.
Although you will not be able to access your email account after your contract end date, any out-of-office messages will remain active for a further three months.

In addition, your licence to use Office 365 will expire once you have left the University. If you would like to use the Office suite of applications once you have left University, you may purchase the package at a discounted rate via OnTheHub.
Please make sure to do this while you are employed by Manchester Met.
Got an email in error saying you're leaving? Such an email will have been triggered automatically by data about you held by HR.
Should this happen, contact HR.
Once you have confirmed a leaving date with your direct report, please contact HR and the team will make the necessary arrangements as part of their leaver's checklist.

Therefore please make sure you have saved to your own storage as soon as possible after your course ends, any important information.
To make sure you have everything you need from your time at University, you can access your MyMMU account and apps for 4 months beyond your course end date.
You can access your University email account for 9 months beyond your course end date.
Once you have left University, access your Manchester Met email account via office365.mmu.ac.uk.
If you've finished your studies with more than £15 on your printing account, you can contact the firstname.lastname@example.org for a refund, as per the University's Refunds Policy.

If you suspend your studies, you won't retain all of your network access. You'll be able to regain access once you re-enrol.
