Post-Beginner Classes Information

Level

The course runs over 3 terms. By the end of course, you will be able to perform at CEFR Level A1-A2.

Post-Beginner 1 (Term 1):

Personal information (incl. nationality, family background, job); hobbies & weekend activities; trips & travel; culture.

Post-Beginner 2 (Term 2):

At the restaurant; at the tourist office; around town & directions; something lost/stolen; food, clothes & shopping; culture.

Post-Beginner 3 (Term 3):

Holidays (transport/problems in a hotel/feeling unwell); newspapers & the media; new technologies; film; culture.

Description

This course is for learners who have a basic grounding in the language (e.g. you have completed our Beginner course or similar) and who need to consolidate the content (grammatical constructs and thematic topics) learnt so far.

Japanese Post-Beginner Information

Level

Revision of previous learning (personal information, family, food & drinks, prices); social etiquette; compliments & expressing gratitude; extending/ receiving invitations; visiting a Japanese home; culture.

Post-Beginner 2 (Term 2):

Leisure & sports; hobbies; inviting someone to do something; making suggestions; offerings; reading the map; giving directions; transportation; culture.

Post-Beginner 3 (Term 3):

Asking permission; being warned; socializing; expressing likes & dislikes; ability (good at /poor at); wishes & aspirations; parts of the body; health issues; giving advice; culture.
