Who am I?
Who am I?
We work with students to improve their learning experience and promote engagement. We help and support them with anything that could affect their progression, impact on their studies or get in the way of a positive student experience at MLS. We are often the first point of contact for students who need some support, advice or just a friendly face. We explore or ‘unpick’ the issues, guide and support them where appropriate or signpost them onto other colleagues or services. We recruit, train and support our Peer Mentors. We encourage engagement within the Law School by organising activities such as the Pre Loved Book Sale.
Academic and professional qualifications
My background is primarily Careers Information, Advice and Guidance. I worked for the National Careers Service for 15 years, as a Learning Adviser and then a Careers Adviser. I delivered impartial, individually tailored Careers sessions over the phone and via email and web chat, to adults, including undergraduates and postgraduates with a range of abilities, qualifications and barriers.
